snobbish rant

In previous editions of The Amazing Race, our teams have gone to such fabulous places as:

The Eiffel Tower
The Taj Mahal
The Great Wall of China
The Hermitage
And so many other fabulous places that are too numerous to list

In THIS edition of The Amazing Race, our families have gone to such fabulous places as:

A sporting-good store
A hot-dog cart
A park in PA
A farm
A big-assed shoe
A mud bog
A waffle house
A big-assed chair
A gas station
A race track
A trailer park
A park in LA

What gives? Didn't the producers have time to fit in a tobacco-spitting and hog hollering contest?

I think the name of this series is wrong, it shouldn't be The Amazing Race: Family Edition, it should be:

The Amazing Race: Remedial
(In an upcoming episode, our families must travel to the Pit Stop in the little bus)

Or

The Amazing Race: White Trash Tour

Are they ever planning on leaving the country this season?!

Next episode. Probably Dominican Republic or some other Carribbean (and baseball-loving) country.

Ah, thank goodness! I like it when they go out of the country!

I'm not from the South by any means, and I do agree that something thrilling is missing in their detours and roadblocks, but you know, that is America right there... It'd be interesting how foreigners perceive this edition, not in terms of how dull or exciting it is but if it fulfilled how they thought of America.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who is disappointed with the places these people have been so far this season. Sure crossing the Delaware where Washington did was pretty cool & the Civil War reinactment was too because it is part of American History, but still...in seasons past they pretty much just started & finished in the US while making it a true race around the world.

I wonder why after how many episodes has it been already they haven't left the US?!?!? Is it because it's a family of 4 instead a couple of 2?!?!

My roommate and I keep calling it "Nerfed".

I bet that they visit the Grand Canyon in a future episode. It's so Brady Bunch.

+The only thing I can think of is because they have minors in this season of the show. Maybe they are scared of anything happening to the children if they go too far out of the US for them to control.

Yeah, this Race sucks. Should be entitled Amazing Race: Are We There Yet?

For the first time, I feel no remorse if I miss an episode. Bring on the next race!

How about a clip of an upcoming episode with those 2 little kids sitting in the backseat singing "Are we there yet? Are we there yet?"

LOL! Haha, you worded this post perfectly! Oh man, but ya know that BP gas station to meet Lester(?) was super.

I was on the edge of my seat. Would they find Lester? Would they not find Lester? Would Lester be behind the cash register? Stocking shelves? Oh, the excitement.

It certainly lacks the exotic feel of previous seasons, but I'm enjoying it just the same. Let's hope we have an end to the unimaginative locales soon.

Big-assed shoe ... Taj Majal ... big-assed shoe... hmmmmm. Maybe they can really amp it up and go to the world's largest ball of twine. I hear you can get allergic reactions from that one.
